Dear God Who
Created Voters
Our Father in Heaven, we come before you this day to ask
forgiveness and seek your direction and guidance.
Almighty, it is five years ago, today, you got us back on
the road after we had gone down the 2007 path.
We never thanked you then, and we have not thanked you now, but being the Lord of life, you have
kept your promises. We are approaching a
similar time in the history of Kenya. And
we are so weary of the things that are surrounding the season.
The killings in Tana and Rift Valley; The deaths in Baragoi
and Garissa; The rampages in Kisumu and Mombasa; Road carnages and tribal animosity.
We have polluted the air with hatred and ill will, in the
name of freedom of expression. We have
relegated nationhood and clumped our tribes, in the name of political numbers. We have misplaced our religious equilibrium and reversed our humanity against each other.
relegated nationhood and clumped our tribes, in the name of political numbers. We have misplaced our religious equilibrium and reversed our humanity against each other.
March 4TH 2013 poll promises to be the most
complex election in post-independence history.
Yet, Almighty, we want to wait until it’s too late to seek your
intercession.
When we were young we prayed at home, in school and sunday-school, and in church; we recited the Lord’s
Prayer, and believed that God was to be involved in everything that we were
involved in.
This election we have not involved you. Father, through your Able Hand Bless this elections; Bless the IEBC
chairman throughout this testing time. Give
him the Solomonic wisdom he requires. Bless the Chief Justice and give him the heart and spirit to protect Justice in within our borders
Bless all the candidates seeking for various elective posts. Give them hope that there is life after
elections. Bless all Kenyans; give us
today our daily bread. Lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. Lead
us into the right choices and deliver us from the guilty of our previous
actions since 2007.
God, the Father, we realize without you, we don’t have a country. Without you, we may as well surrender
everything we believe in and call it a day from this country.
Surround us with your mercies especially at this time we
need you most.
With the help of the Almighty Power, may this prayer engulf
our nation and sincerely become our so desired ‘One nation under God.’
Bless the 4th president of Kenya you have chosen
for us. We Pray and Believe.
AMEN
PS
